Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in New York City New York. She is an American actor and singer whose talents have earned her recognition in a variety of kinds of genres, from thrillers to action films to period dramas. Johansson was the child of a filmmaker and architect. Her family was based in New York City. The twin brothers Hunter as well as her mother were the youngest siblings. She developed an interest in acting from a very young age and was auditioning for commercials before age seven. She became interested in acting quickly, and she was immediately at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She made her debut as a film actress in North (1994) at the age of nine. When she was eight years old, she was a part of Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson played the lead role in Just Cause (1995), before making her big break in the film Manny & Lo - a story of two sisters and orphans who get away.
